The Yates High School/Arc Specialties Robotic Team

In 2000 ARC Specialties (ARC) had the privilege of working with Yates High School on a student robot project. ARC received a phone call from the school requesting assistance to build a robot to enter in the US First Texas regional competition. US First sponsors this competition each year. Each year the "Game" changes. In 2000 the competition consisted of radio controlled robots collecting balls, placing them in a basket, climbing a ramp and lifting themselves off the ground. A parts kit which included a radio control, several motors, springs, bearings was provided to each team. Each year the teams design and build a robot using the kit plus other limited materials, in 6 weeks.
