ARC Specialties hosts our First Friday Lunch the first Friday of the month, and if you are in town with extend an invitation to drop by and visit. This month’s event was lead with a presentation from one our programmers, Zachary Freeman, on our 7-axis GTA hot wire cladding system, ARC-5 Infinity.
All of the indicators that I watch are pointing towards a strong year-end and a great 2022. Our backlog is up 5X, we are hiring, and as you can see from the photos below, the ARC Specialties First Friday Lunch is BACK in a big way. Today we had 15 guests from all over the industry, spirits were high, and the conversation was positive.
Yesterday we had the honor of hosting Bob Roth the President of the American Welding Society (AWS) and past President JOHN BRAY on a tour of ARC Specialties. It is volunteers like Bob & John that make the American Welding Society work.

At ARC Specialties we are big advocates for video monitoring of the welding process. We add cameras to most of our systems. The late Don Alexander once told me that he could see 100 different things in the leading edge of the weld puddle. I’m only up to 86 😉 but I agree that much can be learned by watching the weld.
I’m a long time advocate of narrow gap welding. The advantages are tremendous, but the challenges are too.
