These two robots assemble large, heavy parts with one of James Lippold’s (VP of Design ) custom servo positioning tables handling subassemblies in between. First, our mechanical designer, Joseph Guevara, did a fine job designing the jaws added to the Zimmer Group actuators. Next, Jose Elizalde, Electrical Designer, implemented an elegant EtherCAT solution to minimize the cabling to the Beckhoff controller. Finally, with the expertise of our Motion Control Programmer, Keith Luce, all the code was written and executed to make all these parts work together.
