Robots + Automatic Tool Changers = Increased Flexibility
Trey and I go way back in the welding automation business. Trey has focused on field welding, while I have concentrated on machines operating in factories. But the two fields are merging. Robots are becoming smaller and more flexible. These advancements allow robots to move to the field. Flexibility allows our systems to adapt to the variable parts and changing environment in field welding. Also, as the systems become smaller and more portable, deploying them in the field becomes more practical.
Trey has started a company he calls Bird Dog Industrial Solutions. His mission is to provide welding, cutting, machining, and inspection systems in the southeast USA and around our country. Trey will be providing traditional field service equipment. But he and I agreed that sometimes a robot might be the better solution. So Bird Dog will be representing ARC Specialties on robotic solutions.
Trey lives in Rockhill, South Carolina, near Charlotte, NC. He works in the power generation and shipbuilding industries. He brings a lifetime of manufacturing experience with him, and I am delighted to have him on the ARC team.
I hope you enjoy our podcast. Contact Trey Parrish if you have field or factory manufacturing problems that we might help solve.
