ARC Specialties designs and builds turnkey robotic systems. Part of the process is the fabrication of welded steel frames. See our video below to learn how and why we use flux-cored arc welding (FCAW) to build all of our robotic manufacturing cells.
SPOILER: we use .045″ E71T1M for all position welding. ESAB E710X
the wire is baked to minimize moisture issues and ensure sound welds. The arc on video segment was taken using Xiris Automation Inc. arc video camera so you can see exactly what Rolando sees as he welds 3F vertical up.
I’m also showcasing an example of how ARC integrates sound abatement, dust collection, and component mounting into the rigid steel structure of our robotic plasma cutting and abrasive material removal systems. John Martin (Project Mgr) and James Lippold (Mechanical Design) did a fine job as always.
See if you agree that our holistic approach to the integrated design of welded steel structures is more effective and economical than subcontracting sub-assemblies and using bolted extruded aluminum structures.
